Barn Board Beams offer the bucolic charm of 100-year-old barn timbers – wood that for generations has stood steadfast and only grown more beautiful with the passage of time.
Expertly handcrafted and finished with a superior treatment process, each beam recreates that century-old look in virgin Red Cedar. This wood is harvested from second-growth forests, from which trees are selectively cut and then replanted. Another benefit of this treated virgin wood is its resistance to splitting, warping, twisting or other types of degradation.
The beam’s texture of weathered barn wood has the soft look and feel of age. Choose from a selection of natural stain choices for decors requiring a soft or bolder touch – and everything in between. While each piece has the unique character of solid reclaimed wood, together they are alike in size and coloring to suit your project’s guidelines. A large variety of size options also allows for greater design flexibility.
Assembled in a lightweight 3- or 4-sided box form, the beams allow for easy installation over existing structures or as stand-alone accents. You can build decorative trusses – an endeavor that would be difficult if not impossible with solid wood beams. With these beams, you also avoid the potential pitfalls of reclaimed wood including insect infestations, hazardous VOCs and hidden nails or screws.
With Barn Board, the design potential is almost immeasurable. Take a look at our photo gallery of customer projects and see just a few of the possibilities.
Note: Due to its authenticity, lengths of 14 feet and over requires a scarf joint. Any beam with a width or height larger than 10.5" will have a seam. This seam could be evident when looking at the beam.
